Baked Black Bean Burgers!

Try saying that 5 times fast.

Ingredients:
1 can (16 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
1/2 green bell pepper, sliced
1/2 onion, sliced
​3 cloves garlic
1 egg
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp cumin
1 tsp chili sauce or hot sauce (optional)
1/2 cup bread crumbs (regular or gluten-free)

​​   Directions: 
  1. Preheat oven to 375℉.
  2. In a large bowl, mash black beans until they are a chunky paste. 
  3. Use a food processor to finely chop bell pepper, onion, and garlic, then incorporate into beans.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together egg, chili powder, cumin, and hot or chili sauce. 
  5. Incorporate egg mixture into bean mixture, then mix in bread crumbs. 
  6. Divide mixture into 4 patties, then bake on a lightly greased baking sheet for 10 minutes on each side.
  7. Serve over a salad or bun, or enjoy as is!
   Recipe yields 4 servings; 1 serving = 1 patty; 11g protein per serving.
